Article 1 (Scope of Application)
The accommodation contract and related agreements concluded between this Inn and the Guest shall be governed by these Terms and Conditions. Any matters not stipulated herein shall be governed by applicable laws and regulations or generally established customs and practices.
Article 2 (Refusal of Accommodation and Right to Terminate the Contract)
The Inn may refuse to conclude an accommodation contract or may terminate an existing contract in the following cases:
When the Guest is deemed likely to engage in, or is recognized as having engaged in, conduct contrary to public order or good morals.
When the Guest is identified as an Anti-Social Force (including organized crime groups, members or affiliates thereof, or other related parties).
When the Guest engages in behavior that causes significant nuisance or disturbance to other guests or neighboring residents, or otherwise interferes with the operation of the Inn. When the Guest violates these Terms and Conditions or the House Rules established by the Inn.
In the event that the accommodation contract is terminated pursuant to any of the preceding provisions, no refund of accommodation fees already paid shall be provided.
Article 3 (Fire Prevention and Facility Management)
To protect this historic property, smoking (including heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes) and the use of open flames are strictly prohibited except in areas designated by the Inn.
Guests shall exercise the utmost care not to intentionally or negligently damage or soil the fixtures, furnishings, or traditional fittings within the guest rooms, including shoji screens, fusuma sliding doors, and walls.
Article 4 (Compensation for Damages)
If a Guest damages, soils, or loses the Inn’s buildings, furniture, fixtures, equipment (including antiques and materials of significant cultural value), gardens, or other property due to intent or negligence, the Guest shall compensate the Inn for all costs required for restoration, including specialized cleaning, repairs, and replacement costs.
If the Inn is forced to temporarily suspend operations due to such damage, the Guest shall also be liable for compensation for business interruption losses during the suspension period.
If a Guest violates the House Rules and, as a result, complaints or claims for damages are made by neighboring residents or third parties, the Guest shall resolve such matters at their own responsibility and expense and shall compensate the Inn for any resulting damages incurred.
Article 5 (Observance of House Rules)
Guests are requested to remain quiet after 9:00 p.m. (21:00) in order to maintain the tranquility of the neighborhood. If a guest fails to comply and no improvement is observed, the Inn may require the Guest to vacate the premises immediately.
Wearing shoes indoors and allowing unauthorized visitors to enter the premises are strictly prohibited.
Article 6 (Custody of Baggage and Personal Belongings)
The Inn shall not be held liable for the loss, destruction, or damage of any articles, cash, or valuables brought onto the premises by the Guest, unless such loss or damage is caused by the willful misconduct or gross negligence of the Inn.
Any items left behind by the Guest will be kept for a period of three (3) days.
Article 7 (Jurisdiction)
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Gifu District Court as the court of first instance.
